First Reading: Hebrews 4: 14 - 16 (English):
In this reading to the Hebrews, St. Paul shows us that Jesus,
the high priest, who passed through heavens has been tested the
same way we are, yet without sin.
Second Reading: Galatians 6:1 - 10 (Lebanese):
St. Paul asks us to bear one another's burdens, because by doing
so, we follow the law of Jesus, who wants us to correct the person
who is caught in transgression in a gentle spirit.
Gospel: Matthew , 25: 14 - 30 (English &
Lebanese):
In this Gospel reading, Jesus explains the Kingdom of heaven
using the parable of the talents. God gave each and everyone
of us some talents to use. It is up to us to bring additional
talents to our own.

St. Simon & St. Jude ( Apostles)
October 28
Little is known of St. Simon & St. Jude except that they
were chosen by Jesus as apostles and appear well down on the
list of the twelve disciples. They do not figure prominently
in the Gospel stories, as do some other apostles. After Jesus'
Ascension there is no reliable account of what happened to them.
Unlike St. Peter and St. Paul, whose words and deeds are widely
reported in Scripture and whose achievements dramatically affected
the society of their day, Simon and Jude appear to have done
little in their lives that was notable. Yet the Church celebrates
them among her founders, seeing their preaching revealing God
to us and their prayers aiding their growth.
Prayer for trust
O Christ, when all is darkness and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of your presence, your love, and strength.
Help pus to have perfect trust in your protecting love and strengthening
power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us, for, living
close to you. We shall see your hand, your purpose, your will
through all things.
St. Ignatius of Loyola, 1491-1556
