First Reading: Ephesians 2 :13 - 18 (English):
In this reading, St. Paul explains that Jesus brought unity and
broke all the dividing walls between the different groups. He
reconciled and proclaimed the peace to everyone.
Second Reading: 2 Corinthians 3: 1 - 6 (Lebanese):
St. Paul wants us to know that when we trust and believe in Jesus
Christ, we become strong. Our strength is from the Spirit, the
Lord. This is not written but it is engraved in our hearts.
Gospel: Matthew , 10: 1 - 7 (English & Lebanese):
Jesus sends out his disciples after giving them all the instructions
they need. He gave them authority over unclean spirits and power
to cure all diseases and illness. He wants them to proclaim that

The Serenity Prayer
O God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot
change, the courage to change things I can, and the wisdom to
know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment
at a time. Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace. Taking,
as he did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that he will make all things right if I surrender to
his will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely
happy with him forever.
St. Joachim and St. Anne
July 26
Ancient Christian Tradition records the names of St. Joachim
and Saint Anne as the parents of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. They
were both members of the tribe of Judah of the house of David.
According to tradition, Joachim and Anne came to Jerusalem from
Galilee. Over the centuries, they have been honored, especially
in the East, at great Churches and shrines built in memory of
them. Historically and biblically, not much is known of Joachim
and Anne, except that they are the parents of Mary and grandparents
of Jesus. By their fruits we know how people lived, Jesus Taught.
The Church recognizes the grandparents of Jesus as models of
family virtue and faith, which they transmitted to their offspring.
O Good Saint Anne, Mother of Mary and Grandmother of Jesus,
intercede before God for our families and their children. May
one generation hand on to another faith in God's promise and
trust that he will do great things for those who reverence his
name. |
