First Reading:
1Corinthians 9 (English):
St. Paul explains that he proclaims the Gospel so he gets the
reward of making full use of his rights in the Gospel. He also
became all things to people so he might win more of them.
Second Reading: 2 Corinthians 9:1-15 (lebanese):
St. Paul is proud of suffering in the name of Jesus Christ. He
also says that he is better than those who said that they are
servers of Jesus, because he was in a great danger several times
for the sake of the Lord.
Gospel: Matthew 13:24-30 (English & Lebanese):
In this Gospel reading, Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven
to a man who sowed good seed in his field, then came the enemy
and sowed weeds all through the wheat. So the harvesters had
to collect the weeds and burn them and gather the wheat into
the master's barn.

Throw Your cares on the Lord
(Psalm 55)
O that I had wings like a dove!
I would fly away and be at rest;
Truly, I would flee far away;
I would lodge in the wilderness.
I would hurry to find a shelter for myself
From the raging wind and tempest.
Confuse, O Lord, confound their speech.
For I see violence and strife in the city.
Day and night they go around it on its walls;
And iniquity and trouble are within it.
Cast your burden on the Lord,
And he will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
- St. Maron (died 433 February
9th )
A disciple of St. Zebinus, he became a hermit near Cyrrhus, Syria.
He lived a life of prayer and mortifications, and drew great
crowds by his spiritual wisdom. He trained many hermits and monks
and founded three monasteries. It is believed the Maronites take
their name from Bait-Marun Monastery near the source of the Orontes
River, where a church was erected over his tomb.
