Fourth Week of Lent: The Prodigal Son

First Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:18, 22 , 25 (English):
In this reading, St. Paul clarifies the fact that the Cross is foolishness to those who don't believe in it, and a sign of the power of God for us who are saved by the crucifixion of Jesus.

Second Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:5 -12 (Lebanese):
St. Paul asks us to welcome the God of peace in our lives by loving each other and benefit from the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Gospel: Luke 15: 11 - 32 (English & Lebanese):
In this Gospel Reading, Jesus shows us God interfering in our lives by landing his merciful hands to us. This is a miracle in which we see God, the Father welcoming his children even the sinners back into his arms. This is the miracle of forgiveness and mercy of God our Father.

The Annunciation
March 25th

One of the "Christmas Feasts" celebrated outside the Christmas Season, the Feast of the Annunciation recalls the coming of the Angel Gabriel to Mary to Nazareth to announce that she was to be the mother of Jesus. St. Luke records the historic moment in his Gospel. The feast of the Annunciation is an ancient feast of the Church, March 25, the time of the Spring equinox, was seen as a significant day by the early Christians who regarded it as the Day of Christ's conception in Mary's womb, and the day of his death on the Cross.
God our Father, your word became man and was born of the Virgin Mary.

Indulgence Prayer before a Crucifix

Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus, while before your face I humbly kneel, and with a burning soul pray and beseech you to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, true contrition for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment, while I contemplate with great love and tender pity your five wounds, pondering over them within me, calling to mind the words which David your prophet, said of you, my good Jesus: " They have pierced my hands and my feet; they have numbered all my bones."
