First Reading: 2Corinthians 4:6 -11 (English):
God is shining in our hearts so the life of Jesus may be known
through our bodies. In our life we face so many difficulties
that afflict us in every way so Jesus can be made visible in
our mortal flesh.
Second Reading: Romans 14:13 - 23 (Lebanese):
In this reading, St. Paul asks us not to be a reason of sin for
others, because being doubtful is a sin, and causing others to
be doubtful is a bigger sin.
Gospel: John 2: 1 - 12 (English & Lebanese):
In this Gospel reading, Jesus transformed the water into wine,
giving all the guests joy and happiness and he gave us the new
wine, his blood for the eternal life. We also see Mother Mary
interceding for us. She is always there in our joy and our sadness.

Prayer to keep a True Lent
· Is this a Fast, to keep the larder lean and clean
from fat of veals and sheep?
· Is it to quit the dish of flesh, yet still to fill the
platter high with fish?
· Is it to fast an hour or ragged to go, or show, a down-cast
look and sour?
· No: this is a Fast to dole thy sheaf of wheat and meat
unto the hungry soul.
· It is to fast from strife and old debate, and hate;
to circumcise thy life.
· To show a heart grief-rent; to starve thy sin, not bin;
and that's to keep thy Lent. "Robert Herrick"
* Papal Prayer: That the Holy Year, a favorable time for repentance
and mercy, foster in us deep and lasting conversion. That the
Virgin Mary, Mother of the Savior, may protect and sustain missionaries
in their apostolic work. |
