Gospel: Luke 19: 1 – 10 Readings: Ephesians 2: 1 7 – 22
Upon reading the Gospel of St. Luke, which focuses on the presence of the pagan in the Church with the Jews, we understand why Matthew was mentioned as an isolated person in the society. He was collecting taxes and pocketing some of it, in particular because he was dealing with Rome which was governing the land of the Lord. Jesus went with Matthew.
He didn’t get enough from the visit; he stayed with him instead and gave him the good news. Following Jesus’ visit, Matthew’s house became a Church which will host Christian Groups.
We also read the letter toe the Ephesians which calls the faithful to become one body in Christ. The barrier between the two was demolished by Jesus’ blood. Everyone is one body. All were baptized in God’s name.

Our deepest sympathies to the Family and relatives of Joe Khalil Peters who passed away on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 at the age of 77. The Funeral Mass was held at St. Anthony’s Parish on Saturday, August 8th, 2009. May God rest his soul in peace and grant consolation for her family and relatives.
