Ninth Sunday of the Pentecost Season.
July 26th,
St. Anne’s Feast.
الأحد التاسع من زمن العنصرة، عيد القديسة حنّة
26 تموز سنة 2009

Gospel: Luke 4: 14 – 21

Readings: 2 Corinthians 5: 20, 6:10

Jesus’ mission, which he started and completed between Galilee & Jerusalem, where he died and was raised. This program affected the Jews and the pagan people, beginning with the baptism when the Holy Spirit declared that Jesus is the Son of the Lord, to the devil’s trials which he conquered, to his mission of preaching the kingdom of God.

By Jesus’ death on the Cross and becoming a sacrifice, he triumphed over the sin and stopped the sacrifices of the Old Testament. For this reason, we should benefit from the remaining time for repentance.

The apostolic mission is one with the personality of the apostle is inspired by God.

He preaches according to the flesh but a proof of God’s glory according to the eye of faith in Jesus the Crucified. Jesus taught in Nazareth and in Jerusalem before his passion, death and resurrection.

He preached to his followers and his family. He endured the Cross. He was obedient and merciful.

Prayer to St. Anne

O glorious St. Anne, you are filled with compassion for those who invoke you and with love for those who suffer. Heavily burdened with the weight of my troubles, I cast myself at your feet and humbly beg of you to make the present intention (mention request) which I recommend to you in your special care. Please recommend it to your throne of Jesus, so that He may bring it to a happy issue. Continue to intercede for me until my request is granted. But, above all, obtain for me the grace one day to see my God face to face, and with you and Mary and all the saints to praise and bless Him for all eternity. Amen.

(our Father, Hail Mary & Glory Be)
