King’s University College:
Sometimes our inclination is to associate religious experience with
supernatural, extraordinary moments in our lives. During this
lecture we will look at the association between the familiar routine
of our daily lives and God who speaks through them. This lecture
will take place on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 7:30PM at the
Bessie Labatt Hall, King’s University College, 266 Epworth Ave.,
London. All are welcome.
Prayer
We pray, Lord that you be our helper and protector. Deliver those of
us in distress; raise up the fallen, turn your face to the needy.
Heal the sick, bring back the erring, feed the hungry, and ransom
our prisoners.
Help the weak to their feet, comfort the faint-hearted. Let all
nations know you are God alone, and Jesus Christ is your Son. Alone
with none but thee, my God, I journey on my way: what need I fear,
when thou art near. May we come not troubled by fear, not clinging
to this world, but drawn to our life in heaven, blessed and
everlasting in Jesus Christ. Amen.
St.
Gregory Nazianzem.
Blessing Prayer for a house
Bless, O Lord, Almighty God, our home so that in it there may be
health, chastity, victorious strength, humility, goodness and
mildness, obedience to God’s laws, and acts of thanks to God the
Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, and may this blessing remain upon
this house, and upon all who dwell in it. We ask this through Christ
our Lord. Amen.
