First Sunday after Pentecost. Trinity Sunday, St. Rita's Feast
Gospel: 2 Corinthians 28: 16 - 20
Readings: Matthew 28: 16- 20 Jesus talked to them saying, "Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit." The Father created heaven and earth.
The Son Jesus, is the one that the prophets have talked about. He taught us God's laws and showed us His glory through miracles and forgiveness of sins.
He asked us to leave everything for Him. The Spirit teaches the Church reminding us of what Jesus said. The Father is a mystery, Jesus himself is a mystery; but we are not facing a wall but through the light of Jesus' teachings, we can unveil the secrets of the Father and the Son.
God is the Father: He creates, protects and takes care of us. God is the Son: He became a man for us; He died on the Cross then was risen to save us. God is the Holy Spirit: He sanctifies us, reminds us of Jesus' teachings.
Three persons who love each other to the limit of unity. Christianity is not knowledge but it is life. The Secrets of life are not known by a scientist or a philosopher but by a good person. For this reason, the Pharisees and the high priests refused the word of God.
Their hearts were blinded. They were afraid to be saved. The Church prayers and rites, especially the Holy Mass, remind us that we are ONE in Christ. Only through love we reflect the image of God.

St. Rita, Patron Saint of Impossible Mission, May 22 St. Rita was born at Spoleto, Italy in 1381. At an early age, she begged her parents to allow her to enter a convent. Instead they arranged a marriage for her.
Rita became a good wife and mother, but her husband was a man of violent temper. In anger, he often mistreated his wife. He taught their children his won evil ways.
Rita tried to perform her duties faithfully and to pray and receive the sacraments frequently. After nearly twenty years of marriage, her husband was stabbed by an enemy but before he died he repented because Rita prayed for him. Shortly afterwards, her two sons died, and Rita was alone in the world.
Prayer, fasting, penances of many kinds, and good works filled her days. She was admitted to the convent of the Augustinian nuns of Cascia in Umbria, where she began a life of perfect obedience and great charity, Sister Rita had a great devotion to the Passion of Christ.
"Please let me suffer like you, Divine Saviour," she said one day, and suddenly one of the thorns from the crucifix struck her on the forehead. It felt like a deep wound which did not heal and which casued her much suffering for the rest of her life.
She died on May 22nd, 1457. She is the patroness of impossible cases. Her feast day is May 22nd.
