Year of the Eucharist Fifteenth Sunday after the Pentecost

Gospel: Luke 7: 36 - 50

Readings: Thessalonians 1:1 - 10

While Jesus was dinning at the Pharisees house, a sinner came to him. Standing behind him weeping, bathing his feet with her tears and drying them with her hair, she begged for forgiveness. The Pharisees wondered why Jesus would let a sinner near him. Jesus responded, "He who has the greater debt forgiven would love his forgiver mor. You invited me into your home and served me supper. This women bathed and anointed my feet." He looked at the women and said "Your faith saved you. Your sins are forgiven. Go in Peace." The one to whom a lot is forgiven shows great love, but the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.
