Fourth Sunday after Easter Go into the world and proclaim the Good News. (Mark 16: 15)
Gospel: John 21: 1 - 14
Readings: Ephesians 2:1-10 St. Paul declares in todays epistle, to the Ephesians, God loved us, made us alive together with Christ and raised us up with him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places.
By becoming Jesus disciples, we got our responsibility from Him, the Lord who saved us from the terrifying death. From this moment, the apostles mission stopped working in its narrow horizon, fishing.
Jesus created an escape for their mission by broadening it to the whole world. He made them able to fish eternal life for humankind, Go into the whole world, and proclaim the Good News to the whole creation. In the beginning, when Jesus sent His disciples, they had different jobs, they were fishermen, tax collectors; they were jealous, no believers and doubtful.
God has melted them in the mold of love and service. Heir mission was to build the kingdom and work its work to be as Jesus prayed: One Parish for One Pastor. For this reason, the Church belongs to Christ and does his will. Even if they were persecuted for their faith, they were happy to follow their Teachers footsteps.
The Church is not better than its Teacher who was wronged and then conquered the world. Let us pray to the Virgin Mother especially during the month of May asking her to help us, her children in need.
