Fourth Sunday after Pentecost When the Advocate comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. (John 16:8)
Gospel: John 16: 7 11
Readings: 1 Corinthians 2: 12 16 Jesus gave his commandments to the disciples before sending them into the world. He owns the vineyard. He is the Lord, the Teacher and the Role Model.
Jesus lived His commandments with his apostles before He taught them. He left them with great teachings. His new commandment, which completes all others, is the one of the Crucified, the one of the Lamb which was taken to be slaughtered and he did not say a word. Jesus unveils for us the Lords face: God is love.
As the Father loves me so I love you. Love one another as I love you. That is how the world knows that you are my disciples.
The commandment that completes all others is the one of LOVE, because when we love we dont hold a grudge, we keep our promises, we are never jealous, we dont steal, we never despise anyone. When we love we die for those we love.
This is the essence of the law of all prophets: this is the provision that the Lord gives to his disciples: Go, love as I love you. Do not be afraid because love makes fear disappear.
The Spirit will create us anew every time we ask him to. He teaches us how to learn from Gods love to love Him and all mankind. The Spirit makes us obedient like true disciples of the Lord. He says to Him, Speak, Lord, I am listening.

St. Peter & St. Paul, June 29 A feast honouring these two great saints has been celebrated by the Roman Catholic Church since the third century. There is sound evidence that both Sts. Peter and Paul preached in the city of Rome and were martyred there under the Emperor Nero about the year 64. Simon a fisherman on the sea of Galilee, was one of the first whom Jesus called to follow him.
Changing his name to Peter, Rock, the Lord promised to build his Church on him and gave him power in heaven and on earth. A natural spokesman for the other disciples, Peter called Jesus, the Christ, the Son of the living God.
When Jesus was arrested, peter denied him three times and afterwards wept bitterly over his enormous betrayal. Tradition says he died crucified head down, since he considered himself unworthy to die as his Lord had done.
Saul was a zealous Jew, a Pharisee, who after his dramatic conversion on the way to the city of Damascus became a fervent apostle of Jesus. After a three-year period in Arabia, where he assimilated his new faith, Paul journeyed to the cities of Asia Minor, established communities of Christians among the gentiles.
Because of his activity he suffered constant harassment from the enemies. He was greatly loved by the Christians to whom he ministered.
To them St. Paul wrote his powerful letters of consolation and instruction which the Church still reads today as inspired by God himself. After imprisonment in Rome, he was beheaded along the Ostian Way where his burial place is still venerated.
