Eighth Sunday After Pentecost Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased. (Matthew 12:18)
Gospel: Matthew 12: 14 21
Readings: 2 Corinthians 6: 3 10 St. Pauls letter is an echo to Jesus outlook toward his enemies who are out to get him. With his wisdom and mercy, he knew how to fight them using the weapon of righteousness. On the other hand, Jesus chose the gentle approach in dealing with his opponents.
He wanted to satisfy the Father by choosing the mercy and righteousness. St. Paul tried to connect the masters destiny to the disciples. The disciples life wont be quiet or far from difficulties or agony. It promised the true joy for the faithful.
The Gospel gives us an idea of what Jesus true personality is: He knows he hearts secrets. He acts in a wise manner. Jesus is the healing spirit. Jesus refuses to become an earthly leader. Jesus is the Fathers beloved; Jesus preaches of righteousness.
Jesus is gentle. Jesus refuses discrimination. Jesus is hope for the nations. We confess that we are invited to live these readings to challenge the worlds morals and principles.

St. Anne, July 26 Ancient Christian tradition records the names of Sts. Joachim and Anne as the parents of Mary, the mother of Jesus. They were both members of the tribe of Judah of the house of David. According to tradition, Joachim and Anne came to Jerusalem from Galilee.
Over the centuries, they have been honoured, especially in the East, at great Churches and Shrines built in memory of them. Historically and biblically, not much is known of Joachim and Anne, except that they are the parents of Mary and grandparents of Jesus. By their fruits we know how people lived, Jesus taught. The Church recognizes the grandparents of Jesus as models of family virtue and faith, which they transmitted to their offspring.
O Good St. Anne,
Mother of Mary, Grandmother of Jesus, intercede before God for our families and their children.May one generation hand on to another faith in Gods promise that he will do great things for those who reverence his name.
Prayer to St. AnneSaint Anne, you received the grace to be with Mary and Jesus for their first steps in life. You are present with us in our daily experiences, in our hopes and dreams, in our pain and fears. You hold us by the hand and we go through difficult times; when we suffer illness or when failure paralyzes us, you are always there to comfort us.
When we sometimes lose heart, turn us towards our ever faithful God. He promises us a renewed heart to help us continue with confidence on our pilgrimage of life. On our journey to the final Shrine, may our road be one of hope, like a great procession of light that illuminates the whole world. Good St. Anne, teach us to walk in love.
Amen.
