Sixth Sunday after Pentecost The Righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. (Matthew 13:37)
Gospel: Matthew 13: 36 43
Readings: Romans 8: 28 39 Jesus presented the crowd with a parable about the weeds among the wheat. After that, he went into the house and explained to them the parable, concluding: Let anyone with ears listen. What should we listen to?
Jesus told us in a simple parable the conclusion of the walk between the wheat and weeds which lead to the final harvest and separation. The good is the work of the Son of man and the bad is the work of satan, done by him while people were sleeping.
The separation of the wheat and weeds will be completed at the end of life: either the fire of hell or the kingdom of heaven. Both of them will arrive to the fire: the burning fire or the lighting fire of the sun.
The evil will go to hell and the righteous will shine like the sun in their Fathers kingdom. This truth is understood by the faithful. The unfaithful wont be even interested in what will happen at the end of days.
Jesus was not talking about the presence of evil in the world but about the presence of evil and good in human kinds life. This subject is not a philosophic theory but a practical and live one.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, July 16 The Prophet Elijah ascended Mount Carmel to pray for the heavens to open when the country around him was dry and without water. Finally, he saw a small cloud coming in from the sea bearing life-giving rain. In the twelfth century, Christian hermits came to live and pray on this mountain. In their vision, the cloud was a symbol of Mary, the Mother of God who brought life to a parched world. They honoured her under the title of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and later founded an order devoted to prayer under her patronage.
Most beautiful Mother of God, Splendor of heaven, you bring fruitfulness to the earth and assist us in our needs.
Star of the Sea, show yourself a mother to me. Let the healing rain of your comfort fall gently upon me. Hear my voice when I call.
Mother of God, I place my cause in your hands. Amen.
Prayer of St. Bonaventure
Christ is the way and door. Gaze on him hanging on the Cross with your faith, hope, and love, wondering and joyful, grateful and filled with praise.
Then you will make Christ your Pasch your passing over. Through the branches of the Cross you will pass over the Red Sea, leaving Egypt and entering the desert. There you will taste the hidden manna and rest with Christ in the sepulcher, as if you were dead to things outside.
You will experience, as much as one still living can, the promise made to the thief who hung beside Christ: Today you will be with me in paradise.
