Fourth Sunday after Resurrection Readings: Ephesians, 2: 1 - 10
Gospel: Mark, 16: 15-18
St. Paul declares in today's epistle to the Ephesians, "God loved us, made us alive together with Christ and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places." By becoming Jesus' disciples, we got our responsibilities from Him, the Lord who saved us from the terrifying death. From this moment, the apostles' mission stopped working in its narrow horizon, fishing.
Jesus created an escape for their mission by broadening it to the whole world. He mad them able to fish eternal life for human kind, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the Good News to the whole creation." In the beginning, when Jesus sent his disciples, they had different jobs, they were fishermen, tax collectors; they were jealous, non believers and doubtful. God has melted them in the mold of love and service.
Their mission was to build the kingdom and work its work to be as Jesus prayed: "One Parish to One Pastor." For this reason, the Church belongs to Christ and does his will. Even if they were persecuted for their faith, they were happy to follow their Teacher's footsteps. The Church is not better than its Teacher who was wronged and then conquered the world. Let us pray to the Virgin Mother especially during the month of May. We ask her to help us, her children in need.

Prayer of St. Thérèse of the Child JesusLord Jesus, I am not an eagle. All I have are the eyes and the heart of one. In spite of my littleness, I dare to gaze at the sun of love, and long to fly toward it. I want to imitate the eagles, but all I can do is flap my small wings.
What shall I do? With cheerful confidence I shall stay gazing at the sun, till I die. Nothing will frighten me, neither wind nor rains.
