Sunday of the Hemorrhaging Woman Readings: 2 Corinthians, 7:4-11
Gospel: Luke, 8: 40-48 (English & Lebanese):
In today's Gospel, the Lord teaches us to pray and trust him, because he is the hope and the healing. We saw a similar event when the late Fr. Emilio Tardiff visited Lebanon and many were cured at his hand through the power of the Lord. St. Paul addresses the Corinthians today talking about the importance of joy and repentance instilled in our souls when we return to God after being reprimanded. We meet Jesus when we walk on the road of righteousness.
We are not alive, Jesus is alive in us. He is yesterday, today and tomorrow. Every illness spoils our bodies. It is an internal hemorrhage that makes our souls ill. It is a spiritual hemorrhage that demolishes our spiritual strength and pushes us toward the bad habits like: drinking, gambling, cursing, gossiping, bad conduct, arrogance, lie, bad thoughts, words and deeds that are opposite of purity.
The Christian life is a continuous effort against the powers of evil. We have to work hard in order to reach our goal. Let us be repentant, afraid of hurting God and his disciples. Let us work hard to earn God's healing touch, hoping that we hear his voice talking to every suffering soul, saying the words that he said to the haemorrhaging woman: "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace."

St. Joseph, Husband of Mary
March 19St. Joseph, husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus Christ, was a descendant of King David according to the genealogy presented by the Gospel. Betrothed to Mary, he decided to divorce her quietly when he found out she was child, but an angel of the Lord told him to flee from Bethlehem with the infant and his mother, lest Herod kill the child.
With Mary, he sought the boy Jesus when he was lost on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. In his word as a carpenter he shared the many hours of his trade with his young son. A saint close to God, he is honoured as the patron of the universal Church.
