Pentecost Sunday Readings: Acts, 2: 1 - 13
Gospel: John, 14: 15-20
This Pentecost Sunday, fifty days after the Resurrection, all secrets from the Resurrection are revealed to us. We are filled with the Spirit; we see through the eyes of the Risen One's Spirit. It is great to enter a new Pentecost, as the ones saved by the blood of the lamb, with the apostles.
Let us welcome on the feast of the coming of the Spirit, like Mother Mary and the disciples, God's gifts into our hearts through the Spirit of sanctity, understanding and knowledge, the Spirit that filled the world, the Church and all the nations with God's plentiful graces.
Let us welcome into our hearts the bliss of repentance, hope and salvation to become witnesses to the love that never fails. The Christianity, since early ages, was an adventure of love. Jesus raised the humanity to the generous light of love from the dirt of history and the dust of everyday life, by coming to earth. Jesus gave this mission to his disciples whom he chose.
When they were weak and doubtful, he sent them the Holy Spirit. Bless us Lord, as you blessed your Church through the Spirit. Make us carriers of your justice and truth.

St. Rafca
June 10thSt. Rafca was born in Himlaya, a small village in Lebanon in 1832. At the age of 21, she entered an order of sisters which was later dissolved in1871. In that same year she entered the Lebanese Maronite Order. On the Feast of the Holy Rosary in 1885, Rafca prayed to our Lord that He might allow her to share in the suffering of his crucifixion. From that night on, her health began to deteriorate and soon she became blind and crippled, yet she rejoiced in being made worthy to participate in the daily works of the other sisters.
After years of great agony and torment, she died on March 23, 1914 at the Convent of St. Joseph in Jrabta, and since then, many physical and spiritual healings have been attributed to her intercession. Rafca was canonized as Blessed by Pope John Paul II in 1985. On June 10th, 2001 she was announced as Saint for the whole Catholic Church by Pope John Paul II.
