Sunday of the Righteous & Just

Readings: Hebrews 12: 18-24

Gospel: Matthew, 25; 31-46 (English & Lebanese)

We remember today and during this week the Righteous and Just, the monks, the brothers and sisters who live in the love and fear of God. They passed on to the heavenly kingdom. We remember with them all the saints in heaven asking the Lord through their intercession to strengthen our faith so we could walk following their footsteps.

We pray begging for their help. We ask the Lord to guide and illuminate our minds so we could understand the secret of our salvation, live the true love that put us on the way to sanctify and heaven. Let us pray to God asking him to help us live our lives on earth fearing him, living according to his commandments and the Church's, hoping that at the end we live the glory in heaven.

The Gospel of today tells us that the scale of justice will move according to the deeds of mercy that we do when we see Jesus' face in our neighbours', following the example of our Holy Father Pope John Paul II who visited the man who tried to kill him granting him forgiveness. True Christian live his faith because faith without works is dead. That is how we become like the saints light to the world and testimony to others.
