Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost Gospel: Luke 11: 9 - 13
Readings: Ephesians 4: 1 - 16
Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you." Why? Because the Father is standing at the door with an open hand full of graces. This indicates that all that the faithful asks will be given t him with no questions asked.
We notice sometimes that we ask and we ask ardently for a grace, but we don't receive it. The traditional answer is: we are asking for what is bad for us or beneficial for us. This is true . But there is another explanation: God can't give us what we ask for because it doesn't match the Father's nature so He can't give it to us. Basically, God's relationship with the faithful is a loving one. He doesn't give us a scorpion or a stone.
He is a Father, a loving Father. The nature of God invites to rectify the incorrect image of Him. The Holy Spirit will help us understand the truth about the Father. When we ask for the Spirit's help will receive it.
