Palm Sunday

Readings: Philippians, 1: 1 - 11

Gospel: John,12: 12-22 (English & Lebanese):

As we celebrate Palm Sunday, we can feel the glory of Easter. With all the pain and suffering of today's life, we hear St. Paul's cry who is happy and thankful to the Lord who enters our hearts, triumphant over all the difficulties and obstacles, giving salvation to all nations declaring himself king of mercy.

All those participating in the Lord's celebration today greet and welcome Jesus as a king. They celebrate Jesus' presence and his salvation that he gave to all his people after they saw in him hope and love, after they lived under the burden of domination and poverty. Jesus saved all nations, he is the savior of all the nations, he is the lamb of the New Easter.

St. Paul's epistles are a proof of that truth when he complimented the faith of the people of Philippi who participated in preaching the Gospel to all nations because Jesus' mission is international, from sea to sea as Zakaria predicted. The sight of Jesus by all nations and by us today, can't be completed unless we enter in his passion, death and resurrection. Let us all say with the nations: "We want to see Jesus" let us walk with the faithful saying: "Blessed is the One who is our salvation, our glory; bless us Lord, open our minds and heats so we could welcome you and be loyal to your word and reach safety to the light, truth and sanctity.

Amen.

Prayer before a Crucifix

Behold, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Your sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech You that You would impress upon my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity, true repentance for my sins and a firm purpose of amendment, while with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Your five most precious wounds, having before my eyes that which David spoke in prophecy of you, O good Jesus, "They have pierced my hands and feet, they have numbered all my bones."
