SUNDAY OF THE MAN WITH LEPROSY
Readings: Romans, 6:12-23

Gospel: Mark, 1: 40-45 (English & Lebanese):

On this day, Jesus healed the man with Leprosy with a free grace. He became a free man; free from slavery to sin that dominated his life. What should WE do? Do as the man with leprosy did; we, as Christian people, should reach out to the Lord's merciful hand that took the leper's hand, so it can save us from our falls and help the Holy Spirit invades our lives with the seven gifts. This way, we will all be healed and the sin won't be able to kill our bodies or destroy our lives.

Neither God, nor St. Paul his servant, forbid us from enjoying innocently the goodness of life, but they teach us how to avoid the egoism and selfishness. Christ died, so we could kill our love for sin and bad habits and be close to God. St. Paul insists that we sacrifice our human bodies as a living sacrifice, so it becomes a temple for the Holy Spirit. Here we should choose, either righteousness and freedom and life as God's children and heirs of eternal happiness in the heavenly kingdom or we could choose the life of sin and slavery and death and do evil doings until the leprosy of the sin covers and kills us.

Let us bow in worship on Jesus' feet; he is the only one capable of curing us as he healed the leper physically and emotionally. He is the only one capable of returning to us the innocence of baptism.
