Congratulations To Ronald Peter Fabbro, who will be ordained to his new position as Bishop of London at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 15th at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica, London. Please continue to pray for Bishop Fabbro as he takes over his new Assignment. The London Diocesan Shrine in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary welcomes you at its location at St. Patrick's Church, 5773 10th Line Raleigh, near Merlin, Ontario. Pilgrimage dates are scheduled for August 13 - 22 (ten consecutive days). The day begins at 11:00AM with the celebration of Holy Mass followed by prayers for the sick, lunch, Rosary procession with a Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Benediction. The Assumption of the Virgin Mary August 15, 2002 In November 1950, Pope Pius XII declared the Assumption of the Blessed Mother a doctrine of faith. The taking up of the body and soul of the Mother of God into heaven was celebrated in Jerusalem as far back as the fifth century. Gradually, various churches of East and West make if part of their Calendar. Rejoice with the Mother of God, with angels and saints, and celebrate this great Feast: the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. On earth, she was a fruitful virgin, in heaven, she intercedes for all; through this Blessed woman, the Spirit's Gifts still flow upon us, and her words teach gentle wisdom. At her assent, the earth blossomed; she sought good things for the poor. Now in heaven, her care is undiminished, near her Son she seeks the good of us all.
