- Readings: 2 Corinthians 5:11-21
-
- Gospel: John, 20: 26-31 (English & Lebanese):
Thomas believed after he has seen the Lord. Blessed are we today,
if we believe without seeing him, then we will know the secret
of Jesus' great love. We will accept the reconciliation offered
by Christ. We will live a new life. God reconciled us with him
through Jesus. He offered us faith in him; he will save us from
this empty world.
-
- Jesus helped us to change our
thoughts about God. He also pushed further toward God. The expression
"Peace be with you" originated with Christianity. We
often miss this expression in our societies, our families, and
ourselves. The number of people preaching about peace has augmented,
but those working by it are few, knowing that there is no peace
without Jesus and no faith without his help.
-
- Let us ask the Lord today: On
the first Sunday after his Resurrection, we ask him to take away
the fear and anxiety, the doubt and isolation. May he lavish
on us his peace, and walk through the closed doors of our lives.
May he makes us his ambassadors, witnesses to our faith like
Thomas, the apostle, so we could live like them in the midst
of the Church where we could read the signs of his coming. May
he keep his Church united. Jesus you entered to the upper room
to see your apostles; please open your doors in our face. Remember
us and remember our country Lebanon where you walked once.
- Amen.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I am not an eagle.
All I have are the eyes and the heart of one.
In spite of my littleness, I dare to gaze
At the sun of love,
And long to fly toward it.
I want to imitate the eagles,
But all I can do is flap my small wings.
What shall I do?
With cheerful confidence I shall stay
Gazing at the sun, till I die.
Nothing will frighten me, neither wind nor rain.
O my beloved sun, I delight in feeling small
And helpless in your presence;
And my heart is at peace.
St. Therese of the Child Jesus.
