Sunday of the Announcement to St. Joseph Readings: Ephesians, 3:1:13,
Gospel: Matthew, 1:18-25 (English & Lebanese)
Joseph was confused: Is he a man who follows? Is he a man who takes responsibility? Is he a man who runs away? Is he a man who takes a stand or is he independent? Is he a man who covers others' failings or faults? Is he a man who likes to scandalize others? Isn't this our lives with all mankind? We look at him and we become divided in our sentences on him.
We forget to stand by him and try to make the fear disappear from his frightened heart. On the Sunday of the Announcement to Joseph, we listen to Matthew inviting us to be strong and not to be fearful because Emmanuel is with us.
We also listen to St. Paul saying, "Make everyone see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God." Mary's secret is unveiled. All the earthly solutions that passed in Joseph's mind weren't enough. God's angel interfered explaining to Joseph the truth about Mary.

Advent PrayerLoving Father,
Help us remember the Birth of Jesus,
That we may share in the song of the angels
The gladness of the shepherds
And worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate
And open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing
Which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
Forgiving and forgiven for Jesus' sake.Amen.
