October 07, 2001 FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER THE HOLY CROSS Readings: 1 Thessalonians, 5: 1-11
Gospel: Matthew, 24: 45-51 (English & Lebanese):
This is the fourth Sunday after the Holy Cross. We look on the perseverance and the faith. We hear the Lord, in Matthew's Gospel, inviting us to be the faithful and wise servant. St. Paul also explains in his letter to the Thessalonians: "The Day of the Lord will come like a thief at night. But, you are, brothers, children of the light, not of the night or of the darkness. Stay alert and sober." We listen this week to readings about perseverance and faith in the service of the Lord. Do we know how to persevere in the service with faith and wisdom, wearing the hope and love, so we could have the life everlasting?
