Readings: 2 Corinthians 7: 4 - 11 (English
& Lebanese):
In this reading, St. Paul is filled with joy and encouragement.
He is proud of the Christians in Corinthia because their sadness
led them back to repentance.
Gospel: Luke, 8: 40 - 48 (English & Lebanese):
In this Gospel Reading, we see a strong and silent faith in
the Hemorrhaging woman, a faith that made her believe that just
by touching the tassel on his cloak she will be saved. This faith
in Jesus saved her from the illness that afflicted her life.

- St Patrick (385 - 461 )
St. Patrick was born about 385 in either Dumbarton on the Clyde
or Cumberland to the south of Hadrian's Wall. He was of Roman-British
heritage and his father was a deacon and a municipal official.
Patrick studied at the monastery of Lérins, off the coast
of France from 412 to 415. He spent his next fifteen years at
Auxerre, France and was probably ordained about 417 by St. Amator.
About 432, he was appointed bishop by Germanus and went to Ireland,
to succeed Bishop Palladius. He went to the north and west of
Ireland where the local Irish leaders welcomed him. Soon the
established churches throughout the country and converted many.
Patrick's own accont of his conversion and missionary life is
known as a humble instrument of God's hand's, given gifts of
wisdom and strength to bring an alien people to the true faith.
"I am ready to give my life most willingly; to spend myself
even to death in this country. Among this people I want to wait
for the promise made by Christ in the Gospel, " They shall
come from the east and the west, and sit down with Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob."
"I arise today through God's strength to pilot me, God's
might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to look
before me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me, God's way to lie before me, God's shield
to protect me, God's host to save me, from snares of devils,
from temptations of vices, from everyone who shall wish me ill,
afar and anear, alone and in a multitude. St. Patrick.
