THE BIRTH OF JESUS
Readings: Hebrews, 1:1-14

Gospel: Luke, 2: 1-20 (English & Lebanese):

The Church reminds us today that Jesus is born in the flesh from the offspring of David; he took a human body similar to ours, from our family and he came among us; he is from our flesh and bones; at the same time he invited us to be of his flesh and bones.

Jesus is Lord and Saviour, according to the relation to the Spirit. There will never be an ending to his kingdom. He was incarnated in history and was in a specific geographic area with a human face and a divine face as well. Jesus the Lord couldn't complete his mission without Jesus the man. After Jesus was born, and God spoke to us through him, we had to be born with him as God's children so we could transform the earth to heaven after he came to our land.

He came in glory, peace and hope to all. God is love; he took a human flesh for the salvation, forgiveness, peace, justice and mercy. Jesus wore the poverty and the weakness of the human. We can relate to him with no fear; we should bring the joy like the shepherds, so we could win the battle of justice and peace, not that of violence, and arrogance.

We should accept Jesus in our lives, like Mary and Joseph, glorifying his love, singing his glory with the shepherds: "Glory to God in the highest and peace to his people on earth."

Prayer for Jesus, God's Greatest Gift

Jesus, I believe that the greatest proof of God's is his gift to us of you, His only Son. O Lord Jesus Christ, we ask you to incarnate in us your invisible divinity. What you accomplished corporally in your Mother Mary, accomplish now spiritually in your church.

May the Church's sure faith conceive you, its unstained intelligence give birth to you, and its soul united with the power of the Most High preserve you forever.

Amen.

Abouna's Message

Dear Friends,

I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Christmas is a time for sharing. It reminds us of our call to be Jesus to others. It is time to celebrate the love that God showed us by sending his only begotten Son to save us.

Let us celebrate God who loved us so much that He became one of us, walked with us, celebrated with us, and taught us to love as He loves.

Christmas is a time for us to open our eyes and our hearts to the signs of the times. Let us be prophets of justice and peace. Let us all do something about the hunger for love and for reconciliation.

I hope and pray that you and your families have a blessed Christmas filled with peace and love, and that this New Year be abounding with God's favor.

With Affection, I remain
In Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
